Memorandum of Understanding between SPS and SPGS

In a significant development, St Paul’s School and St Paul’s Girls’ School have announced a formal collaboration aimed at enriching the educational experiences of their students. The partnership, which builds upon the schools’ ‘best of both worlds’ programme, seeks to make collaboration a cornerstone while offering joint experiences to pupils.

The Master (St Paul’s School), The High Mistress (St Paul’s Girls’ School) have been working with senior staff and colleagues at the Mercers’ company to formalise this programme.  On 1 February, the Chairs of Governors of both schools jointly signed a Memorandum of Understanding for future collaboration.

The work to date with St Paul’s Girls’ School has shown clearly that it has the potential to be invaluable in shaping a well-rounded and enriching educational experience for our pupils.  Both schools value their own unique cultures, independence and the very real strengths and advantages of single-sex education. However, the partnership between arguably the top girls’ and boys’ schools in the country represents an unparalleled opportunity to harness collective strengths for the benefit of all students.

“This Memorandum of Understanding confirms our shared commitment to providing students with a unique educational experience. It underscores our dedication to maintaining expertise in boys’ education while fostering social development and mutual respect.” Sally-Anne Huang, High Master

Key principles outlined in the agreement include ensuring all pupils have access to joint events and activities, promoting collaboration among staff, and prioritising strategic planning to sustain the partnership. The collaboration aims to reassure parents and students of the schools’ shared aims and commitments.
