The languages faculty was thrilled to host this year’s Modern Languages Film Night on Thursday 24 November at St Paul’s.
Around 60 pupils from the Sixth and Eighth Forms enjoyed a hot supper in the languages department followed by an introductory talk about each film before the screening of films in French (Joyeux Noël), German (Das Leben der Anderen), Italian (Il filo invisibile) and Spanish (María, llena eres de gracia).
The films were selected by each department because of thematic links to the A Level course so that pupils could gain cultural and historical insights into the countries they are studying outside of lesson time. Many thanks to all of the staff and pupils who attended. These films are also available for pupils and parents to watch at home on the school’s free streaming service, Planet eStream, using their school login.
