The Pauls4all Charities & Volunteering Committee is pleased to announce Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Charity as our National Charity of the Year.
Pauls4All Committee members have been present in the Atrium at morning break and lunch times all week, raising awareness of the charity and how any donation our community makes will be used. To kickstart this year’s fundraising, this Friday, 14 October will be a MUFTI Day in aid of GOSH.
Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Charity is the charity counterpart of the hospital and is crucial in supporting and developing the hospital, creating the nationally and internationally renowned hospital which feels more like a playground than a hospital, something that is invaluable for young patients and a core part of everything GOSH does. GOSH Charity supports the hospital through: research into children’s health, support for families and children, rebuilding and refurbishment as well as buying life-saving medical equipment. An example of one of their main projects currently is creating family accommodation for parents and siblings of child inpatients which helps them keep up with the roughly 600 children being admitted every day. This emphasises GOSH Children’s Charity’s relevance as a national charity, as they seek to make their service better and more accessible for those across the country, and in supporting families who can’t afford housing or hotel accommodation (an increasing reality for many) while staying with their child in hospital.
