National School Chess Finals 2022

On 30 July, the school chess team (comprised of Teddy, Haolin, Henry, Louis, Ali, William and Vedaant) made a long journey to Stratford-upon-Avon to attend the prestigious National School Finals 2022.

There were 19 schools competing in the tournament with all the major chess schools present. With the rigorous chess preparation taking place next to the playing hall, the atmosphere was intense.

Despite an early setback against Westminster School, the chess team fought back courageously and managed to finish the tournament strong. Although there were a few key points to work on as a team, it was a great experience and everyone had a great time. Hopefully, next year, we will return stronger.
