St Paul’s Rackets players are enjoying great success in the early rounds of the National Schools Singles Rackets Championships held at the Queen’s Club in London this week.
Alex Hogben (Lower Eighth) secured a confident 2-0 victory in the U18 ‘The Renny Cup’ event. In the U16 category, ‘The Incledon-Webber,’ Sachin M, Aryan Sankaye, and Konstantin Vujnovic (Sixth Form) advanced smoothly through the initial rounds, with Sachin impressively losing only 3 points across his first two rounds. However, unfortunately, he and 2nd seed, Konstantin, now face each other in the next round of 32.
On Monday 11 December, more victories followed in the U15 ‘Jim Dear Cup’ with Eamon De-Rosa Rashid and Edouard Traissac (Fifth Form) along with Gabriel Ashton and Shlok Poddar (Sixth Form) in the ‘Incledon-Webber.’ Regrettably, Adam Zimmerman (Lower Eighth) and John Moretti (Upper Eighth) faced losses in the ‘Renny Cup,’ while Anish Dhar (Fifth Form) and Eamon experienced setbacks in their respective categories, the ‘Jim Dear Cup.’
