Novel to be Released by Mr Martin

Teacher of Chemistry, Mr Martin (BCBM), has written a novel: The Quiet, which is due to be published by Pan Macmillan on 15 May.

The book follows the story of Hannah and her son, Isaac, and they live in a world where an enormous spherical field called the Soundfield has covered the earth. This field produces a constant background hum and has accelerated climate change, leading to a massive refugee crisis from the southern hemisphere to the north.

Inspired by books like The Road and Station Eleven, this is ‘a riveting story about parenting through an unforeseen apocalypse’ according to Ernest Cline, New York Times Bestselling author of Ready Player One. ‘Martin weaves an inspired premise into an engrossing and wholly original adventure’.
