Four Lower Eighth pupils participated in the prestigious Oxford Union Schools debating finals on Saturday 15 March, having qualified through the regional round earlier this year.
The competition is the largest British Parliamentary school-level debate competition in the world, and the largest debating competition in the UK. The teams of Luca and Harper, and Aru and Adrian put in great performances against world-class opposition from both UK and international schools. Whilst neither team made it through to the semi finals, Adrian was ranked the eighth best speaker on the day. The pupils showed great spirit and magnanimity throughout the day and were supported wonderfully by our debating coach, Arjun Raman.
