Our latest update includes recent news of a Lower Eighth sponsored swim for Crisis UK, ‘Colet Mentors of the Week’, Thomas Clarkson Award winners and information about a local volunteer recruitment event.
Swimming for Crisis UK
A team of Lower Eighth swimmers, led by Ramon and Malachi, participated in a sponsored swim. Collectively the team had to swim 20km to raise money for our partner charity Crisis UK, which is combatting homelessness in the UK, an issue that has been exacerbated by the difficulties of the COVID-19 pandemic.
This was an individual sponsored event that the pupils initiated. If you would like to show your support, please visit their JustGiving site.
Colet Mentors of the Week
The Lower Eighth Colet Mentor of the Week is Alex Marshall for his enthusiasm and for answering three questions in one evening, and Google mentor of the week is Jonny Catmull for stepping in at short notice to help out.
Thomas Clarkson Award
Thomas Clarkson Award winners are Lower Eighth students, Ricardo Pilnik and Yuvraj Dubey for projects supporting local plastic recycling and IT education in India respectively. Harry Rimmer is the Sixth Form nominee.
