Paulines Receive Outstanding Number of Oxford and US Universities Offers

We are extremely proud of the 35 pupils who gained offers to the University of Oxford yesterday. These are across 15 different subjects.

None of these places can be gained without a genuine passion and love of the subject, as exemplified by the reflections of Mr Gregory Garnett from our History department who helped to support our 8 successful History applicants: “These results are testament to the boys’ keen engagement and Stakhanovite work ethic. Their burgeoning interest in the subject has led them to ever more niche historical tracts, discovered through independent research. These have ranged from the Mexican War of Independence to Lord Salisbury’s idiosyncratic conservatism to all-drunken Tsarist synods and much in-between. It is as impressive as it is unusual to see undergraduate applicants display such initiative and multifaceted curiosity.”

Of course, Paulines are wide-ranging in their ambitions for future destinations, as seen by the 74 early applications submitted by Paulines to US Universities, with offers already received from a range of destinations including UChicago, Columbia, Cornell, Emory, Harvard, MIT, NYU, UPenn, Princeton, Stanford, Tufts, Vanderbilt and Yale.

Our universities team are keen to emphasise finding the right match for the right pupil, and making sure we support them wherever that might be.
