We delighted to report that Alp Karadogan (Fifth Form) broke the U14 world record for 2,000m on the Concept 2 rowing machine by 3.4 seconds.

On Saturday, 29 January, the Boat Club’s first major fixture of the term saw three senior, two J16 and two J15 crews in action on the school’s home stretch of river at Quintin Head.

The first eight finished 11th overall, beating many adult and university crews; they were the fourth fastest school crew on the day, despite stiff competition from visiting crews hosted by SPS: two from Eton and five from Radley. However, the stars of the regatta were the J15 and J16 squads, each of which won their event. Special mention should go to the J15 rowers who took first and third places in their event, separated by only three seconds over a 12 minute race. The club won the event’s victor Ludorum trophy for the fastest combined time of their top senior, J16 and J15 crews.
