Rowing News – Marlow Regatta

In the final race of the season before Henley Royal Regatta, the SPS 1^st VIII won the Grand Challenge Cup for Schools, beating Shiplake by 5.4 seconds.

Although the 1^st VIII had missed out on making the A final (top eight boats) by only 0.2 seconds in the time trial, in the finals they recorded the sixth-fastest time of any eight in the event.  The senior 2^nd VIII and quad also raced to get in some final preparation before Henley Qualifiers on Friday 28 June.  Elsewhere, the J15A eight finished their season unbeaten by winning the J15 event by 4 seconds.  The J15B crew turned in a stunning performance to finish 4^th in the same event, beating most schools’ A crews.
