School, County and International Success for the Fifth Form

The Fifth Form of 2017/18 are an exceptional year and their contribution to School, County and International sport is remarkable.

John Richardson has recently played successfully for England u16’s in a Golf match v Spain after playing superbly to help the School team make the National Finals this year. Derin Acaroglu has had amazing success with his Tennis and is playing and training in the National squad whilst also representing school with distinction in Tennis, Rugby and Football. Bertie Fisher has been selected to represent GB in the European and World Championship’s this summer after coming second in the u17UK Sailing championships. James Street and Tyler Payne have battled through injuries, but have impressed to be selected in the England ISFA Football squad whilst also being members of the AFC Wimbledon and QPR respectively.

Anosh Malik (Middlesex EPP), Freddie Harrison (Surrey) and Zach Campbell (Gloucestershire) have all played well for the school 1stXI this year alongside their County honours and leading the school team into the later stages of the National u15’s  Cup as Middlesex Champions. Seon Shaw has represented Harlequin’s Elite Academy in the National Academies Tournament and along with Zach, Freddie and Derin was part of a school team that was unbeaten in rugby. Greg Zoppos has been a superb sportsmen for St Pauls in Rugby and Football, but his real excellence has been in athletics where after winning the Middlesex Championships, he will compete in the National Pentathlon- Greg is ranked in the top five Nationally in this event. Isaac Wighton claimed the National Schools u15’s Rackets title at Queen’s and the school U15 Crew recently won Gold in the National Schools Rowing Regatta at Dorney Lake. The commitment that these boys contribute to school sport when you consider their individual success out of school is absolutely stunning.
