School Wins Queen Mother Cup at National Schools Regatta
St Paul’s had a very successful weekend at the National Schools Regatta at Dorney Lake over the bank holiday weekend.
The First Eight took gold in the Championship Eights (Queen Mother Cup) for the first time in the School’s rowing history. We also took gold medals in the J14 A Octuples, J15 Championship Eights and Championship Coxed Fours events. Silver medals were awarded in the J16 Championship Eights and J16 2nd Eights. Bronze medals were won in J16 Championship Pairs and J16 2nd Coxless Fours, taking the School’s total medal tally to 8.
We’re excited to share recent student achievements: Eighth Formers excelled at the Junior Rowing Championships in Canada, Fergus and Rohan (Sixth Form) reached the U15 National final, Shiv Ahluwalia (Sixth Form) qualified for the Junior European Open in Cadiz, Sasha Georget-Roukline (Upper Eighth) was selected for Team GB at the FIE event in Amsterdam, and Aditya Bhimalingam (Sixth Form) placed fourth in the National Youth Junior Bouldering competition.
Shiv Ahluwalia (Sixth Form) won the European Junior Championship qualifier at The Caversham on 18 August with a one-over-par 73, securing his spot at the 32nd Junior European Open in Cadiz, Spain, in partnership with Sky Sports, this November
