Pupil Cycles for Children with Cancer UK

Sixth Form pupil, Joe and his friend Arthur are each cycling 500 miles in the span of a month (January 7 – February 7) to raise money for Children With Cancer UK.

Joe said: “We specifically chose this charity because, during the pandemic, diseases like cancer have been overshadowed. Therefore, we feel that this has increased the need to shed light on this cause. Children should not be stripped of the opportunity to recover from cancer by the lack of finance or available treatment.  We feel that by raising money, we can at least make some contribution to treatments, research into cures and giving vulnerable children a second chance at life.”

If you would like to support Joe, please visit his JustGiving page.

Claire Milloy, Community Fundraising Manager, Children with Cancer UK said: “We are so grateful to Joe for taking on this incredible challenge in support of Children with Cancer UK.  In 2020 we lost 40% of our income and our funding this year is at serious risk, which will jeopardise future life-saving childhood cancer research.  We want to ensure that during the worrying months that lie ahead, we can continue to do everything we can, to give hope to young cancer patients and their families.  Please support Joe’s fundraising in whatever way you can whether it’s a donation to his fundraising page, or even take a similar challenge yourself to raise further funds to help us fight against the injustice of childhood cancer. Your support is needed now, more than ever before and we are so grateful to you for getting involved.”
