In reply, Guildford were reduced to 113-6 before a 7th wicket partnership of 59 runs saw them reach 172-6, requiring just 16 runs more for victory with 4 wickets in hand. Bhatia (Upper Eighth) finally made the breakthrough before de Silva (Sixth Form) picked up the 8th wicket in the next over. Bhatia then took the 9th wicket before Dhasmana (Fifth Form) returned to finish off the innings. Guildford’s final 4 wickets fell for just 8 runs, with St Paul’s winning by 7 runs. Dhasmana finished with 3-24 while de Mestre (Sixth Form) took 3-32 towards the start of the innings. Praise should also go to Jack Vyvyan (Fifth Form) from the U15s who filled in as a substitute fielder for two thirds of the innings after an injury to keeper Raaj (Sixth Form).

At home, the 2nd XI also defeated Guildford with F Hammond Giles (Lower Eighth) taking 3-29. The U15s were less successful with all three sides recording losses. Earlier in the week, U15 sides defeated Ibstock Place while the 3rd XI also won against Ibstock Place on Saturday.
