Two members of the SPS and Partnerships athletics squad delivered outstanding performances at the England Athletics Indoor Championships in Sheffield yesterday.
Giovanni (Year 9, FBS) impressed in the U15 boys’ 60m sprint, twice improving his personal best to reach the final, where he secured an excellent fourth-place finish with a time of 7.29 seconds. His classmate and friend, Mack (also Year 9, FBS), competed in the U15 boys’ high jump and claimed a superb silver medal, clearing a personal best of 1.81m in a closely contested battle with the eventual winner.
Remarkably, neither athlete had trained for athletics before September, making their achievements a testament to their natural talent and dedicated effort over the past six months. Their success highlights the strength of the SPS athletics programme and promises an exciting future for both competitors.
