Last week, several Eighth Form pupils from the Values Committee and Pride Soc visited the Upper Third as they learned about sexuality in PSHE.
The older students helped the younger pupils navigate some of the terms that exist in contemporary society that help people explain and capture their sexual identity. They also led discussions on why these labels might exist, how people can identify and challenge homophobia while acknowledging the difficulties and complexities when doing so, building inclusive communities, and coming out. These lessons nicely lead into this week’s celebrations of LGBT+ History Month and continue our growing programme of SPS pupils leading lessons and activities for SPJ pupils.
