On Friday 20 and Saturday 21 January, St Paul’s hosted the fifth Model United Nations conference, SPSMUN23.
Around 175 delegates from a range of schools debated a variety of topics, including the current conflict in Ethiopia, resource exploitation in the Arctic, and women’s rights in Afghanistan. On Saturday, delegates also participated in a General Assembly debating a resolution to address a crisis in the South China Sea.
The conference was run and organised by Lucas Cadman (Upper Eighth), as Secretary General, supported by a team of chairs drawn from the Upper and Lower Eighth forms – Felix O’Brien, Rayn Lakha, Victor Mikheev, Caspar Robertson, Sam Grosz, Paul Emmett, Tony Liu, Duncan Wong, Noah Leach, Corry Traynor and Angel Ellis – as well as external chairs from St Paul’s Girls’ School, Godolphin & Latymer, and Queen’s Gate School. Many thanks to all of them for their hard work and commitment throughout the conference.
