On Thursday 26 April St Paul’s Athletics Club took part in the Achilles Schools’ Relays.
Well done to Greg, Will, Philip and Tom won the Chris Brasher Trophy for the U17 4x400m, in a superb time of 3.38.7s. They won their heat comfortably and progressed through to the final with the second fastest qualifying time. There was some very strong competition in the final including Eton, Harrow, Cheltenham and Hampton. However, all four boys ran superbly well, and after Greg opened up a ten metre lead after the opening leg, his team mates followed suit and just kept on extending the lead lap by lap. Outstanding achievement by all four runners and thoroughly well deserved winners of the Chris Brasher Trophy
The Under 17 team, Tom, Shahriar, Louis and James made it to the 4x100m final and came in 3rd place, with a time of 45.8s just shy of the school record of 45.3s.
In the Under 15 age group, Monty, Ben, Daniel and William all ran superbly to finish up in second place in the 4x800m final.
Well done to all the boys involved! A very proud day for the St Paul’s Athletics Club.
