St Paul’s Juniors/St Paul’s School Joint Eco Event

On Tuesday, the St Paul’s Juniors (SPJ) Energy Patrol Team (EPT) joined forces with the St Paul’s School (SPS) EcoSoc to put on an ‘eco’ Christmas event.

Firstly, we were put into teams with a mix of SPJ and SPS pupils and our task was to produce some Christmas decorations/baubles out of old newspapers and recycled posters. We had 20 minutes to make decorations that were both durable and creative. Working with the older boys was so much fun and we had lots of discussions about how we could make the school eco-friendlier in the process. After the first task, Rayaan (Upper Third) had created an eco-Christmas quiz for us all to take part in. It was interesting to learn how many trees are cut down a day and which city creates the most light pollution in the world – the answer may shock you, it’s Las Vegas!

The winners of the quiz were given some vegan chocolate and the teams that won the decorations task won some vegan sweets. All the prizes were shared amongst everyone that attended though – which was very kind of the winners!

Overall the event was a great success and working with the senior school was the highlight. We look forward to many more collaborative events in the future.
