The Upper Third Year had an informative and fascinating talk about animal testing from the eminent Professor Clive Page during Thursday’s assembly.
Professor Page, a leading pharmacologist based at King’s College London and the founder and chairman of Verona Pharma, was awarded an OBE last year for services to pharmaceutical science.
The assembly was the culmination of Theology and Philosophy lessons about ethical dilemmas, and was kicked off with speeches for and against animal testing written and delivered by Nikolai, Enyu, Leo and Felix. Congratulations to the boys involved and a huge thanks to Professor Page for his time and expertise. Everyone learned a huge amount about the use of animals in science.
