During the first week of remedy, 36 enterprising students from the Third Year were accompanied by 6 courageous members of staff on a stimulating and thought-provoking trip to San Francisco.
The trip was organised to give our students a better insight into the world of technology by visiting some of the world’s most exciting technology companies and getting an insight into some of the latest innovations coming out of Silicon Valley.
They were whisked around the stunning campus at Stanford University, listening intently to tales of success and innovation that took root at this famous institution before being wowed by talk of driverless cars at Google, Holograms and AI at Microsoft and wearable technology at Fitbit. It wasn’t all technology though – the children found time to let their hair down, paying a visit to the Six Flags theme park, enjoying a thrilling NHL game at the home of the San Jose Sharks and even taking the boat ride to visit Alcatraz Prison. All in all, it was certainly a trip to remember!
