On Thursday eight prospective entrepreneurs from the Lower Third Years took part in an enterprise activity with pupils from St Paul’s Girls School and Burlington Danes Academy.
Five teams were created and were set the challenge of producing a detailed proposal for a new restaurant brand. Proposals had to include: the type of cuisine, the restaurant location, a finance plan, an analysis of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT), marketing ideas and finally, a commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability. The work room became a hive of activity as the new restaurant concepts started to emerge. The final results were impressive. Vine won the prize for best presentation (with James as Marketing Manager and Sushi Stars (Raphael; Marketing Manager and Ilias : Strategy Manager) and Dashing Doners (Martin: Finance Manager and Daniel: Corporate Responsibility Manager) won the prize for best overall concept. The winners enjoyed a rather tasty box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts.
All of the representatives from St Paul’s Juniors agreed that it was a great way to spend a day!
