U11 Cross Country

Two weeks ago, our junior and senior cross country teams took part in the Richmond Borough Cross Country Championships.

In the Under 11 boys’ race there were over 175 runners from thirty schools and SPJ did extremely well. From our team of six, Max Bishop won the race, Charlie White came 2nd, Emerick Mcmahon came 4th and Lorenzo Massi came 9th. This meant our overall team score was a remarkable sixteen points and SPJ were the overall winners.

In the afternoon, our senior team were running in the Under 14 race against boys predominantly from Year 9. Out of the 93 runners, notable performances came from Oli Thompson 24th, Benny Harrison 33rd and from Hugo le Franc, who is in Year 7 and finished 29th. The boys managed to come a very respectable 5th out of the twelve schools in this age group.

Well done to all the boys who represented the school and another huge congratulations to the Junior team for their outstanding performance.
