On Saturday 26 September I will be taking part in a triathlon at Hever Castle. I will need to swim 100 metres in a lake, run 1.3 kilometres and cycle 4 kilometres. I have been training during the summer holiday and I am very excited about it.
Through this triathlon, I am hoping to raise money to support an international charity called Doctors Without Borders (MSF). This medical charity has been active since the 1970s, and has helped to save the lives of vulnerable people in areas of crisis all over the world.
I have requested that the funds raised go to help their work in treating Syrian children. MSF have set up hospitals and clinics in Syria and neighbouring countries to help children and the wounded.
I have set up a 'just giving' web page at www.justgiving.com/Rakan-Sharaiha/ to help raise funds from friends and family to support that cause. I would very much appreciate any donations.
