St Paul’s Juniors / Pastoral Care

The pastoral team is led by the Deputy Head who works closely with the Head of First Years, the Head of Second Years and the Head of Third Years. They, along with other key members of staff, are members of the Pastoral Committee which considers matters relating to the well-being of all pupils in the School.

Form tutors monitor the progress, development and well-being of each pupil under their care so that each boy feels they can discuss any issues they might have with someone who knows them. Each Form Room houses a ‘pupil welfare box’ so that all pupils have an effective and private way of raising a concern and reaching out for support.

Our wide range of activities mean that the boys will find someone to share their interests with and develop skills outside the classroom. Our House system encourages a broad social life across forms and year groups as younger boys come under the care of older, more experienced boys. We also run a cross-year buddy system enables older boys to act as role models to the younger boys and it provides support to pupils when they first arrive at the school.

We firmly believe that each boy should feel that he matters and is cared for as an individual.
