St Paul’s Music Presents: String Afternoon

Assistant Director of Music at St Paul’s Tom Evans is to host a String Afternoon for children during the half-term remedy.

Open to 8-15 year olds whose standard is from grade 3 to grade 8, the day will take place on Saturday 29 October from 1.30pm. Attendees will be split into two rehearsal groups, coming together for a short concert in Wathen Hall with parents, teachers and friends welcome to watch.

Mr Evans, Assistant Director of the Music department since 2009, will be one of the tutors on the day. A violinist, composer and lead of Fulham Symphony Orchestra, his experience ensures that children will be taught to a high standard. Additional accolades include gaining a music degree from St John’s College, Cambridge and a PhD in composition from King’s College London.

Tutoring alongside him will be orchestral and chamber musician, solo recitalist, and teacher Kathryn Parry. Mrs Parry has played with numerous orchestras and was honoured as an Associate of the Royal Academy of Music (ARAM) in recognition of her services to the music profession.
