St Paul’s golf team beat Kings College Wimbledon on Wednesday 25 November, in the second round of HMC Foursomes Golf, Knockout Tournament.
The match, which took place at Royal Wimbledon Golf Club, was tense with some outstanding play seeing the first two pairs come in with one loss, one win. As darkness fell, the third pair came back from a poor start, 4 down to halve on the 18th hole and played on into a 19th hole. With tremendous precision, Ramon Menon sunk a 25 foot putt to win the match for St Paul’s.
The whole team, which included Leo Groos, Tom Eterovic, Hyun Mo Yang, Chris Smith, Lucas Moore and Ramon Menonplayed extremely well and go through to the semi-finals against Bradfield in the Spring Term 2016.
Just before half term, the golf team put in another spectacular play, again beating KCS in the Independent Schools Golf Association, Matchplay Tournament. The team will now face Hampton in the semi-finals in spring.
A busy Saturday of football against King’s College School, Wimbledon brought a mix of emphatic wins, tightly contested matches and some unavoidable cancellations
It was another outstanding week of sport, with success across multiple disciplines and age groups. From historic achievements at the Schools West of England Fives Tournament, to dominant performances on the football pitches and a strong showing at the Roehampton Schools Squash Invitation Tournament.
