This afternoon, St Paul’s played host to the West London regional round of the Senior Team Mathematical Challenge. It proved a popular heat with 30 schools entering, the greatest number of any regional heat, including strong opposition such as Eton College and City of London Girls’ School.
The SPS team, consisting of Kelvin Leung (U8th), Frank Or (L8th), Navonil Neogi (L8th) and Yang Hsu (L8th), performed extremely well throughout the competition and were able to move past Eton College in the final round to take victory with 177 points out of a possible 186. Runners up were Ashbourne College, who scored 174 points, with Eton College finishing third with 172 points.
The results mean the team have secured automatic qualification for the national final, to be held on Tuesday 6 February at the Royal Horticultural Halls.
