St Paul’s Win the Senior Team Maths Challenge Regional Finals

St Paul’s pupils performed extremely well in the recent Senior Team Maths Challenge, winning the competition and automatically qualifying for next year’s final.

A team consisting of Lennie Wells, Zac Sciamma, Tom Foster and Yang Hsu (pictured left to right) competed in the regional round of the Challenge, which was hosted at St Paul’s in the afternoon of Monday 5 December. Twenty-nine teams participated in the competition, completing three rounds of challenges such as solving a mathematical crossword puzzle.

The SPS team will compete in the Senior Team Maths Challenge National Finals on Tuesday 7 February 2017, which takes place at the Royal Horticultural Halls. For the final round, participants take part in a poster competition. Using information sent in advance, the teams have to make a poster incorporating materials that they have prepared while addressing related questions given out on the day.

A warm congratulations to the boys, and an extended thanks to everyone who helped with the organisation of the event.
