Eurosoc

Eurosoc (the Modern Languages Society) aims to enrich pupils’ experience of European languages and culture.

The society meets most Wednesdays and hosts outside speakers, invited from higher education, business, finance, political and government departments, as well as from embassies and cultural organisations.

Our location close to central London means we have been able to attract a fascinating range of speakers, who between them cover all the European languages we offer at St Paul’s. Staff and pupils also contribute to the programme by giving talks.

This is a snapshot of the variety of talks our senior students have enjoyed recently:

  • UK-German Relations, as explained by the German ambassador to the UK
  • How an Oxford Student Murdered the Mad Monk Rasputin, delivered by an Oxford academic
  • The Importance of the Latin-American Markets presented by the CEO of London’s Canning House Hispanic and Brazilian Council
  • The Importance of Languages in Business, discussed by a senior representative of the Office for Fair Trading.
