This week saw the annual Summer Entrepreneurship Course bring together around 160 Y11 pupils from across eight different schools to collaborate together and develop sustainable business concepts.
Over the course of three days, students heard from and were mentored by inspirational founders in the sustainability space, including Andy Shovel of THIS, Johnny Kay of Versus, and Rob Gardner of Rebalance Earth. An impressive array of innovative ideas came from the students, including CHILLO, a pillow with inbuilt cooling function to help people sleep at night, to Babylon, a concept that involves using living walls to purify air and grow fruit to simultaneously improve food security.
All students had to pitch their ideas to a panel of expert judges from the Venture Capitalist industry, with the best entries receiving access to the prestigious LSE Generate 3-month accelerator programme, which commences next term.
