Team Firefly Race Day at Castle Combe

Team Firefly raced on Sunday at Castle Combe.

FF03 finished 7th out of the kit cars. The team comprised: Freddie, Hawkie, Ishan, Neel, Vyom and Ronit.

FF01 finished 15th out of the scratch-built cars. The team comprised: Haruki, James (who should also be congratulated for his outstanding team organising over the radio!), Kian, Michael, Nikhil, Paul, William and Louis

FF02 finished 9th in the senior competition earning more championship points. The team comprised: Abhibhava, Alec, Eliyahu, George, James (who drove the car, having put hours of training in on the simulator in preparation for the race), Jonathan, Michael, Oliver, Suleyman, Thomas (who should also be congratulated for supporting FF03 with their race strategy) and Liam (who worked with Thomas in supporting FF03).

Victor, Eliyahu, Oliver, Louis, William, Thomas and James W also won the IET Engineering Award for their telemetry system and integrated data centre in the trailer.

Greenpower awarded Miss Katie Douglass and Mr Arthur Jenkins the Spirit of Greenpower Award for their support of other teams on race days and the engineering outreach they do regularly. This is the first time that the award has been given to teachers.

Team Firefly has one more race (next week at Dunsfold Park) to qualify for the international final.
