Team Firefly race day at Dunsfold Park

At the weekend, Team Firefly raced again, this time at Dunsfold Park (the Top Gear test track).

FF01 finished 6th out of the scratch cars. The team comprised Louis, Levi, Paul, Nikhil, Michael, Aarav, Haruki, Alec, Zach and James.

FF03 finished 13th out of the kit cars. The team comprised: Leonardo, Vyom, Siddharth, Daniel, Shrey, Freddie, Ishan, Ronit, Neel, Benjamin and Parker.

FF02 raced with new batteries. As there hadn’t been time to condition these properly before the race, they had to stop 15 minutes early (in a 1-hour race). Despite this, they finished 10th, earning another point in the championship table. They were the 3rd best school team.
The car was driven by Suleyman and ably supported by: Milad, Peter, Michael, Eliyahu, Oliver, Thomas, Victor, Liam, James, Arjun, Abhibhava and George.

Special mention should go to: Eliyahu, Oliver and Victor for their hours of work in the week leading up to the race to get the CANbus and telemetry in FF02. This is a highly complex system, using custom designed and built PCBs and some highly complex code.

Team Firefly now waits to see if their cars have covered a long enough distance over the season to qualify for the final at Goodwood on 9 October.
