The House of Bernarda Alba – Trailer

“In eight years of mourning, not a breath of air from the streets will enter this house. As if the doors and windows were sealed with bricks.”

Bernarda’s husband is dead. Now she alone rules her household and the lives of her five daughters. No contact with the outside world, and the men who might bring them ruin, will be permitted. But Adela has other plans. Her passion for her sister’s fiancé – and her appetite for defiance – is growing. Lorca’s violent masterpiece, a terrifying study in tyranny and sexual repression, will be performed by a cast of senior actors in a radical all-male staging, broadcast live from the Milton Studio for two nights in December.

This production will be performed in full accordance with government guidelines concerning social distancing in schools.
