The Thomas Gresham Committee were thrilled that so many SPJ pupils embraced the recent Thomas Gresham SPJ Readathon.
The Christmas holidays and the extended lockdown were the perfect excuse to huddle down with a good book. Books ranged from Famous Five to Harry Potter, To Kill a Mockingbird to The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Heid to Cricket 2.0, Narnia to Hobbiton! It didn’t matter who read what, the main thing was to get reading!
Overall, the support for the Readathon was fantastic with 981 books being read, 84 pupils taking part and £10,643.68 raised for the Thomas Gresham Bursary Award; it was great to see pupils of all age groups get involved and to read so many books.
We look forward to Readathon continuing for many years to come.
