Our U15 & U16 fives players registered a narrow victory against Stamford on Saturday by 148 points to 140.
Our team of Patrick & Ed (Sixth Form) and Nadim, Theo, Alex & Nick (Fifth Form) were behind after the singles but reversed the deficit in the doubles.
Highlights included Nadim beating their top seed, who was a year older, to maintain his 100% winning run so far this year; Nadim & Nick beating their top doubles pair, who were national champions at U14 last year by a very impressive 11-1; Ed winning his singles in his first school fives match for a year and Nick & Ed had both been rowing in the morning before the match, showing their impressive fitness.
Our U14B team of fourth formers Malakai, Om, Guy and Kai played in their first match for the school. They lost a hard-fought match against Stamford U14A’s despite Malakai and Om comprehensively beating their second pair 11-3, 11-2.
