The U18 basketball team won the West London Partnership (WLP) Basketball competition with a hard fought 42 – 36 victory over Holland Park School on Friday evening.
Victories against West London Free School, Cardinal Vaughan, Latymer Upper, and Lycée Français Charles De Gaulle in the group stages saw the team win through to the final against Holland Park, and a disciplined performance saw the U18s win the trophy for the second time in three years.
There were several notable performances but the MVP was captain, Eli, who led from the front and was the team leader in points and assists.
It was almost a double success for SPS in the U16 category; the Fifth Form team narrowly lost to Westminster Academy in the WLP U16 45 – 47. However, they will have an opportunity next year to go one better.
