SEAA Intercounties Championship, 13-14 September.
Over the weekend, Fifth Form athletes Charlie Nicolson and Leo Popov proudly represented Middlesex at the U15 South of England Inter-Counties Championships in Oxford. Charlie secured an impressive second place in the 1500m, clocking 4:14.63, while Leo claimed third place in the long jump with a leap of 5.86m.
Rugby
St Paul’s rugby teams delivered an excellent set of performances in their latest block fixture against Hampton School, winning five of their six matches. It was a weekend full of impressive rugby and plenty of positives as the season continues to build momentum.
The 1st XV produced a superb display to record a 17-10 victory. After a physically demanding outing the previous week, the team showed remarkable composure and resilience, defending for long periods and taking their chances clinically when they came.
The 2nd XV fought hard but were edged out 15-5 by a well-drilled Hampton side, while the 3rd XV got their campaign off to a flying start with an entertaining 35-17 win. At home, the U15A side produced a dominant performance to claim a 48-0 victory, showing real creativity in attack and strength in defence.
Away from home, the U16A and U14A teams were equally commanding, winning 50-10 and 40-5 respectively. Both sides controlled their matches from start to finish and underlined their quality with decisive attacking play.
With five wins from six fixtures, this was a highly successful weekend for the Club, and the teams will take plenty of confidence into next weekend’s matches against Tonbridge.
