Safeguarding Training and Supervision

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility, all staff should receive training in how to identify and respond to child protection concerns.

Level 2 Safeguarding Training and Supervision

The safeguarding training at St Paul’s school has been developed specifically to support all school staff to be able to recognise and identify child protection concerns, and to be able to respond appropriately. This child focused training incorporates the latest national guidance (Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018) and is based around national learning from serious case reviews, in particular the Southbank International School SCR.

Designated Lead Professional (Level 3), Safeguarding Training

This advanced safeguarding course will improve your understanding of child protection processes and clarify your role and responsibility within this multi-agency setting. Once a referral to children’s social care is made, professionals can often feel bewildered with what may happen next. It is vital then that those professionals have a clear understanding of what to expect during the child protection process following a referral to children’s social care.

A practical approach is taken to define the responsibility of organisations and individuals in relation to working with other agencies to support the safeguarding, welfare needs and protection of children.

This one-day course is designed to include the best practice advice from the London Child Protection Procedures, Keeping Children Safe in Education 2019 and Working Together to Safeguard Children 2018. The course is suitable for education, early years, health and voluntary sector staff.

Please note, you must have attended an approved Level 2 Safeguarding Course (you will be required to bring the Level 2 certificate with you on the day of the Level 3 course) prior to completing this Level 3 course.
