On Friday, 25 March, SPS will participate in a whole-school charity walk. We last ran this event in 2018, and it was a fantastic day, where the community banded together to fundraise for Beyond Ourselves – in the end, we raised over £33,000!
The walk will take place between Hammersmith Bridge and Putney Bridge (a distance of around 5 miles) on the morning of the last day of term between 9am to 11:30am, with pupils walking in tutor groups along the towpaths along the river.
This year, we will be walking to fundraise for our UK charity of the year, Women’s Aid. It is a fantastic charity that does amazing work to help vulnerable people throughout the country. To support them we will be asking pupils to:
- Wear something pink on the day of the walk, which is the chosen colour of Women’s Aid
- Ask for around £15 worth of sponsorship or donations from family and friends – with £15, Women’s Aid can supply around £75 worth of support and care for those who need it.
More information will come out in the coming weeks, but I just wanted to draw your attention to this amazing event.
