SPS V Trinity School, 18 May
Some better results for SPS in the block fixture.
The 1st XI won by 4 wickets – winning the toss, and putting the opposition into bat, they were bowled out for 126 in 31 overs. The chase was not without challenge but fortunately S. Bhatia (Lower Eighth) (who took 50 balls to get off the mark, blocking out the opposition’s county spinner) and S. Jones (Lower Eighth) 29 runs, impressing for the second week with both bat and ball, saw the side home.
The 2nd XI had a resounding victory, winning by 63 runs, with N. Dahl (Upper Eighth) the star of the day scoring 97 runs just short of a century.
The 3rd XI lost by just 14 runs with D. Patel (Sixth Form) impressing returning figures of 6-14 and scoring 31 runs; captain L. Magalhaes (Upper Eighth) should also be congratulated on his sportsmanship through the day.
The U15As struggled against a strong opposition side losing by 9 wickets
In the U15Bs match the scores were tied after both innings, which resulted in a 2019 world cup final style super over, and SPS winning by 1 run! C. Pockney took 6 wickets over the whole match, including 2 in the super over.
The U15Cs won with Z Okada again impressing, scoring 36 runs.
The U14As lost a close game by 10 runs while both the U14Bs and U14Cs won their matches.
