Entry to St Paul’s at 11+

For a dynamic, varied and enriching education from the age of 11 until 18, boys join St Paul’s Prep School for two years and then transfer to St Paul’s.

Boys from state primary and independent schools which finish at the end of Year 6 may apply to join St Paul’s Prep School at 11+. We admit approximately 36 boys at this point; they spend two years at St Paul’s Prep School before moving on to St Paul’s School in Year 9.

Our admission process selects boys who have the necessary strong all-round intellectual ability, interest in academic study and commitment to extra-curricular activities to be happy and thrive here.

Please note, that whilst we welcome applicants from state primary schools, the 11+ entry point is the most appropriate entry point as it allows boys to spend two years in our Junior School before transferring to St Paul’s in the Fourth Form.

For boys currently at prep schools that end at Year 6, they may choose to either be assessed for the 11+ process, or choose the 13+ assessment process and transfer to another prep school before joining us in the Fourth Form.  We would be happy to provide advice on prep schools that welcome boys for Years 7 and 8.

We regret that it is not possible to sit both the 11+ and 13+ assessment process and the offer given is only for the entry point assessed.

The application process for 11+ entry in 2027 for boys born between 1 September 2015 and 31 August 2016 will open in April.
