Energy Patrol Team (EPT) Trials a New Sustainability Game

Earlier this week, the Energy Patrol Team (EPT) joined forces with EcoSoc in the senior school to trial a new sustainability game called ‘How bad are bananas?’.

They were split into teams and given cards related to food and had to work out which food produced the most carbon. It was a fun exercise that also got the boys working collaboratively and thinking about food miles and carbon food print. The biggest shock came from out-of-season organic cherry tomatoes that released a shocking 20+kg of CO2 per 1kg produced.

It was a fantastic activity and the EPT boys are already looking forward to linking up with EcoSoc in the future.

The EPT boys have also been working hard on producing some articles related to the environment so keep an eye on future editions of the Grapevine.

If any parents work in sustainability or have a keen interest in the environment and would like to perhaps impart some wisdom and knowledge to the EPT then please get in touch with Mr Brooks (JJB@stpaulsschool.org.uk) and we can arrange a time for you to visit.

Many thanks,

Mr Brooks and Miss Shepherd
