Ensembles Concert

Last night (Wednesday 17 November) saw the first Ensembles Concert in two years as a wide variety of groups – choral, chamber and orchestral – took to the Wathen Hall stage.

Kicking off with a riotous drumline performance marching down into the Hall and out again, the audience was treated to epic Scandinavian folk soundtracks arranged for strings, classy Haydn and Mendelssohn chamber music, Bach from the Baroque Ensemble and a whole four-song set from St Paul’s Voices. As if this weren’t enough, Wind Orchestra treated us to a rendition of “No Time to Die” that many felt was superior in essence to the Billy Eilish original…! A massive well done to all pupils involved – especially to those for whom it was their first St Paul’s School Concert.
