The Topical Tuesday series sees guest speakers from the St Paul’s Community share their take on the current environment.

In conversation with the High Master, actor Rory Kinnear OP (1991-96) joins us for this Topical Tuesday to talk about his personal experiences of the impact of Coronavirus.

Rory Kinnear is an award-winning actor, perhaps best known for his role as Bill Tanner in the James Bond films Quantum Of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre and the upcoming ’No Time to Die’. Recent credits include Showtime’s Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, Mike Leigh’s Peterloo and Channel 4’s ‘Brexit: Uncivil War’, as well as Russell T. Davies’ Years and Years opposite Emma Thompson and Catherine The Great opposite Helen Mirren. Kinnear’s further TV credits include Inside No. 9, The Casual Vacancy, Penny Dreadful, the sitcom Count Arthur Strong, the Tony Grisoni-written Southcliffe (BAFTA nomination for Best Supporting Actor), Loving Miss Hatto, Broken (BIFA award for Best Supporting Actor), Black Mirror, Rupert Goold’s Richard II (as Bolingbroke)and Lucan (title role).

On stage, he has won the Evening Standard’s Best Actor Award for Measure For Measure (Almeida, 2010) and Hamlet (NT, 2010), and for his Iago in Othello (NT, 2013). He has won Olivier Awards for his roles as Iago, and Sir Fopling Flutter (The Man Of Mode, 2008). Rory’s recent stage credits include Rufus Norris’ The Threepenny Opera and Macbeth and the inaugural production at the new Bridge Theatre, Young Marx.

Kinnear is also an award-winning playwright for his debut play The Herd and in 2017 made his directorial debut with the ENO’s production of A Winter’s Tale.
