Academic Success – 29 April 2021

Congratulations to our pupils for outstanding results in the UK Linguistics Olympiad, the Perse Coding Team Challenge and the Minds Underground 2021 Essay Competition.

UK Linguistics Olympiad 

Lucas Van Den Oever (Sixth Form), Eashan Shah (Lower Eighth) and Callum Purcell  (Upper Eighth) took part in Round 2 of the UK Linguistics Olympiad just before the Easter Remedy. Many congratulations to Callum who received a Distinction, which places him in the top 25% of those that took part in the second round. 

Perse Coding Team Challenge

The Perse Coding Team Challenge (organised by the Perse School) is a coding competition for students in Years 9 to 11. Pupils compete in teams of up to three, and 34 boys from the Fifth and Sixth Forms qualified for the final which took place before Easter.  A Sixth Form team of Charles Calzia, Eliyahu Gluschove-Koppel and Oliver Hiorns beat 350 other teams in the competition to win the cup, with the Fifth Form team of Victor Liu, Archie Macrae and Haolin Zhao coming joint second.

Minds Underground 2021 Essay Competition

The Minds Underground 2021 Essay Competition saw over 1000 students enter from across the globe including students from South Korea, Nigeria, Russia, Pakistan, USA. Many congratulations to James Lawson and Kaan Akyol (Lower Eighth) who won the Politics and Geography categories respectively.
