Saturday saw the traditional opening block fixture against Berkhamsted. In very cold conditions, some good games of cricket were played with St Paul’s winning 5 out of the 9 fixtures. In what proved to be a frustrating day, the 1st XI lost by 3 wickets, with Walter making 50. The 2nd XI had a very close match, losing in the final over. Dahl impressed with the bat scoring 77. The 3rd XI won by 3 wickets, with heroics from Dhar who scored 109 not out and wicket keeper Magalhaes taking 4-28 having relinquished the gloves! The U15As won with Raaj scoring 82 and Bhargava taking 4-19. The U15Bs and U5C both lost. However, all three U14 sides won with Dhasmana scoring 86 for the As, and Ryatt making 72 for the Cs. An all round good weekend of cricket. Our block fixture this coming Saturday is a new one vs Brighton College, while the U14As and U15As play in the first round of the Surrey cups mid-week.
