International Biology Olympiad Success

This month, recent Upper Eighth leaver Senan won a silver medal with the United Kingdom team at the International Biology Olympiad (IBO).

This was the first year where the IBO returned to in-person competition, and the event was hosted in Yerevan, Armenia. Teams sat practical and theoretical examinations at the international competition, which covered topics in biochemistry, botany, microbiology and physiology.

Students from more than 60 countries participated in the event, and the UK team was selected from over 10,000 students. Team selection was based on success in the British Biology Olympiad taken in March of this year.
