A group of Upper Eighth scientists have been working on a slice of the Northwest African meteorite using the Montage Scanning Electron Micrograph. They are currently writing a characterisation paper to identify the type of carbonaceous chondrite they are studying. This paper will form part of their application for recently acquired asteroid samples from Ryugu in Japan.
This striking image was compiled by school’s Film & Video Technician Umbreen Khan from approximately 400 individual micrographs painstakingly captured by our team of pupils over a month in the summer. Well done to Louis Kirkpatrick, Aditya Jain, Anerhan Ahilan, Eamon Coates, Giancarlo Ramirez, Kush Gupta, Lucas Ji, Rana Sarin and Sandro Enukidze.
